BEST & WORST FOUNDATIONS

Hi Loves, I thought I would share with you my best and worst foundations that I have, hope this can help you if you are looking for a new foundation to buy. I always like to research about a cosmetic product before purchasing, especially foundations as they can be expensive.

My favourite foundations are Too Faced – Born this way, Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation & Dior Forever Foundation. All three foundations have a lovely coverage and do not clog my pores and cause me to have breakouts. I love using a damp beauty blender or a kabuki brush to apply foundation, these two items avoid blotches and makes the product easy to blend.

Born this way foundations gives a nice full coverage and I like to use this foundation if I am going out where photos are going to be taken, the foundation is long lasting which is beneficial if you don’t get any time to top up your makeup.

Chanel velvet foundation has a nice sheer coverage and makes my skin look healthy and glowing. I love using this makeup on holiday or during the day as its light weight and smell fresh. I use this foundation everyday and apply tiny bit of concealer under the eyes and a bronzer on my cheekbones to finish off my everyday look.

Dior forever foundation is a full coverage foundation, it is build-able if you want to hide any imperfections, I love this foundation and try to make it last lol, I tend to use this when I am going on a night out/meal. This foundation gives you a nice smooth complexion and long lasting!

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation Stick has some down falls for me, I love the sheer look it gives to the skin, it hides any imperfections and stays on all day but my problem with this foundation is that it makes my skin look to oily at times. Also this foundation can give me breakouts as it is such a think foundation, I feel it clogs my pores and is quite heavy on my skin. I would recommend this foundation if your skin is dry and looking for a foundation which will hydrate your skin and not make it appear more dry.

I have to say, I am not a big fan of Charlotte tilbury Magic foundation. I purchased this product a few months ago as I saw many great reviews, I thought I would try this product out myself. I found the foundation to be really dry on the skin and hard to blend. It was not applying on smooth and I like an easily blend-able foundation. I suppose this foundation would be perfect for someone who has really oily skin.  I have combination skin so finding a foundation that is not too oily and not too dry is important to me.

Mac studio Fix foundation was not great for me, I found this foundation to feel so heavy on my face and gave me breakouts, Sadly I had to get rid of this foundation as it was just not working with my skin. I think this foundation is great for photoshoots and to hide blemishes. I found this foundation was also to thick and hard to blend for me. I  purchased the wrong colour and did not match my skin tone, I think it is a good idea to go in a MAC store so one of the makeup artists can help match the foundation to your skin tone, I may try this sometime and find more of a light weight foundation of theirs.
