Happy New year everyone, I hope you all had a lovely New Year’s Eve! For New Years I went to a fancy dress party it was a really good night! I decided to go for a 1920’s Gatsby style. I came across this dress online and had to buy it, I love the sequins and tassels. Tassels were very popular to wear back in the 1920’s. I added some gorgeous earrings I purchased last year from noxa jewellery and my shoes I got from boohoo.com
Emerald Tassel Dress
Pretty little thing have some gorgeous dresses, it was hard to choose what dress to get. I would recommend pretty little thing or Missguided when finding a dress for a night out, they always have sales and offers so you can get a good deal!
The earrings I am wearing in the picture are sold out but I have found a pair which are stunning on noxa jewellery. Earrings.
I love getting ready for NYE, I have created a look that I think will be great for a night out. For my eyes I have created this gold/green shimmer eyeshadow going into a black smokey eye. I thought to do something different for a change as I am always using the same eyeshadow colours. The gold and green tones made my blue eyes pop and to finish off the eye look I applied some full wispy lashes.
I started off by applying a base colour to my eyelid, this can be any white/creamy tone eyeshadow that you have. I used my 25A Copper Spice morphe palette for this and applied the product using a flat brush. As always I use my MAC Fix + and spray the product on to my brush as this makes the eyeshadow stay on longer and gives more of a pigmented effect. Continuing using my morphe palette I applied a light warm orange/brown eyeshadow using a crease blending brush.
For the centre of the lid I used the Makeup Geek Dirty Martini Eyeshadow, this is a light green colour. I would highly recommend makeup geek eyeshadows, they are known for their great pigmentation and are easily to blend. It is important to keep blending your eyeshadows together, this will give you a smoother look to avoid any harsh lines. I went back to my morphe palette and picked up a slightly darker brown tone to apply into my crease, this will give my eye more definition and over the top of my green eyeshadow I used a gold shimmer eyeshadow, you can use a flat brush or your finger and lightly apply this over the centre of the lid. I then went in with a grey/black tone eyeshadow only applying a little bit to my crease just to put the eye look together. I picked up my blended brush once again and blended every thing out.
To give me a glow on my face I used my Gerard Cosmetics Highlighter in the colour Grace. For foundation I used my born this way foundation by too faced, the reason I used this foundation is because it gives a full coverage which I think is great for a night out as it will last longer and look great in photos. For my Lips I applied Benefit Sugar Bomb Lip Gloss, I adore this product it is really glossy and has a lot of moisture. Plus it is not sticky like some lip glosses you get.
To get full wispy lashes, Lily lashes have the best lashes you can get plus you can get 20+ wears out of them, thats very long lasting! I have the lashes ‘Miami’ the popular style and most sold as Kylie Jenner uses these lashes!
